Dealing with the stochastic prosumager problem with controllable loads

Abstract This paper focuses on the home energy management for a residential prosumager with flexible loads. In particular, three different types of controllable appliances (shiftable, interruptible, thermostatically controllable) have been considered, each one specific representation consumption profile and potential discomfort rate user. The inherent uncertainty affecting main model parameters (i.e., non- loads, solar production, external temperature) is explicitly accounted by adopting two-stage stochastic programming modeling paradigm. solution provides optimal scheduling loads operation storage system that guarantee minimum expected procurement cost, taking into account overall discomfort. A preliminary computational experience has shown effectiveness proposed approach in terms cost savings advantage related to use over deterministic formulation.
